Uncover the Best Amarone Wine Producers in the Mountains North of Verona: A VIP Winery Vacation with the Bertani Family.

3/21/2023

Picture
If you're a wine lover, there's nothing quite like discovering a new region that produces some of the finest wine in the world. And that's exactly what you'll find when you venture into the mountains north of Verona, where some of the best Amarone wine is produced.

One of the most iconic wineries in the region is the Bertani Family winery, which has been producing top-quality Amarone wine since the mid-1800s. The family legacy has been passed down from generation to generation, and the Bertani name is now synonymous with excellence in winemaking.

The secret to their success lies in the unique terroir of the region, which is characterized by its hilly landscape, cool climate, and mineral-rich soil. The grapes used to make Amarone wine are carefully selected and hand-harvested, then dried in special rooms called fruttai until they reach the perfect level of ripeness and concentration.

Once the grapes are ready, they are fermented and aged in oak barrels for several years, resulting in a wine that is rich, complex, and full-bodied. Amarone is known for its intense flavors of dark fruit, chocolate, and spice, and its velvety texture makes it a perfect pairing for hearty dishes like roasted meats, stews, and strong cheeses.

If you're ready to experience the magic of Amarone wine for yourself, we invite you to join us for a once-in-a-lifetime trip to Italy in the fall of 2024. Our VIP Winery Vacations package will take you on a journey through some of Italy's most beautiful and historic regions, including Milan, Verona, Bassano, Bologna, Parma, and Modena.

You'll have the opportunity to taste some of the best wine and food that Italy has to offer, and you'll get an inside look at the winemaking process from some of the top producers in the region. Whether you're a seasoned wine connoisseur or just starting to explore the world of Italian wine, this trip is guaranteed to be an unforgettable experience.

So mark your calendars and stay tuned to our website for more information about our upcoming trip. We can't wait to share the beauty, culture, and wine of Italy with you. Salute!

As wine lovers, there's nothing quite like discovering a new winery that just takes our breath away. And that's exactly what happened when we visited Early Mountain Vineyards in Virginia. We had heard great things about their wines, but experiencing them firsthand was truly an unforgettable experience.

From the moment we stepped foot on the property, we knew we were in for a treat. The stunning views of the Blue Ridge Mountains in the distance set the stage for what was to come. As we made our way through the vineyards, we were struck by the beauty of the landscape and the meticulous attention to detail in the vineyard.

Our tour guide, who was incredibly knowledgeable and passionate about the wines, led us through the winemaking process from start to finish. We were amazed to learn about the different techniques used to create the various styles of wine, and we could tell that each bottle was crafted with care and precision.

And then came the moment we had been waiting for - the wine tasting. We started with their Petit Manseng, which was crisp and refreshing with notes of tropical fruit and a hint of sweetness. Next up was the Cabernet Franc, which had a beautiful balance of fruit and tannins, with a long, smooth finish. Finally, we tried their red blend, which was complex and flavorful, with layers of dark fruit and spice.

But the highlight of the visit was undoubtedly our tour of the winery, where we got to taste their brand new Pet Nat straight from disgorging. It was a truly unique experience, and one that we will never forget. We were blown away by the quality of the wine and the attention to detail that went into every aspect of its production.

As we left Early Mountain Vineyards, we couldn't help but feel grateful for the opportunity to experience such incredible wines and to meet the passionate people behind them. We're thrilled to be able to share these wines with our customers at Aroma Thyme Bistro, and we can't wait to see what the future holds for Early Mountain Vineyards. Cheers to discovering the best of the best!

The Delicious History of the New York Strip: How It Got Its Name and Why It's Still a Steakhouse Favorite

Picture
Have you ever been to a restaurant and seen the term "New York Strip" on the menu, and wondered where it got its name? Well, the answer may surprise you.
It all started in 1837 at Delmonico's, one of the most famous restaurants in New York City. They served a steak that was so delicious, people started referring to it as the "New York Strip" - and the name stuck. Since then, the term has become synonymous with a specific cut of beef.
But here's the interesting part - a "Delmonico steak" isn't necessarily a New York Strip anymore. According to The Daily Meal, it can refer to any thick-cut, high-quality steak. So, while the term "Delmonico" may be used more broadly these days, the New York Strip remains a popular choice for steak lovers.
Also known as the ambassador steak, strip loin steak, or club steak, the New York Strip is a flavorful cut of beef that's known for its tenderness and marbling. It's typically cut from the short loin of the cow and has a rich, beefy flavor that's hard to resist.
While other locations may have their own versions of this cut, such as the Kansas City strip steak or the Omaha strip, ordering a New York Strip is always a good choice. It's a great way to indulge in a delicious and high-quality steak that's sure to satisfy your taste buds.
So, next time you see the New York Strip on the menu, go ahead and order it with confidence. You now know the history behind its name and can savor every bite knowing that you're enjoying a classic and delicious cut of beef.

Did you know that mussels have been enjoyed as a delicacy for centuries? Originating in Belgium in the 18th century, mussels have become a staple of Belgian cuisine and can now be found on menus worldwide.

One of the reasons mussels are so irresistible is their unique blend of flavors and textures. Their briny aroma, delicate texture, and savory flavor create a feast for the senses. Moreover, they are incredibly healthy, packed with protein, iron, and vitamin B12, while also being low in fat and calories.

Mussels are a versatile seafood option, with many dishes to suit different tastes. They can be steamed, fried, or baked and are often served with various sauces, from garlic butter to white wine and cream.
