Did you know that the majority of shrimp consumed in the US is farm raised? And of that, the majority is the Pacific white shrimp (also known as litopenaeus vannamei) that can be grown in almost any body of water anywhere in the world. But, the methods used to breed, farm, and cultivate these shrimp can vary greatly, leading to differences in taste, texture, and environmental impact. That's why we love sourcing our shrimp from Ecuador - their aquaculture industry is advanced and sustainable, producing shrimp with better taste and texture through selective breeding, and raising them in balanced aquatic environments without the need for abusive feed practices or heavy use of antibiotics. Plus, national governing bodies ensure compliance and quality control from hatchery to harvest.

Get ready to experience the rich, round flavors of Cantos de Valpiedra, a must-try wine from the Finca Valpiedra winery in La Rioja, Spain. Made entirely from Tempranillo grapes harvested in mid-September, this wine is a true expression of the region's unique terroir. The grapes are fermented in stainless steel tanks with a 16-day maceration before being aged for 12 months in French and American oak barrels, giving the wine its intense purple color and violet glints, as well as its highly aromatic nose of black fruit and ripe sloe notes. The wine also has a pronounced minerality, with vanilla, spice, and tobacco notes from the barrel aging adding complexity and depth to its character.
At Aroma Thyme Bistro, we are excited to offer Cantos de Valpiedra as part of our exceptional wine selection. Owners Marcus and Jamie have personally visited the Finca Valpiedra winery and experienced the unique terroir and winemaking process firsthand, and they can't wait to share this special wine with you. On the palate, Cantos de Valpiedra is oily, rich, and intense, with a sweetness that coats the mouth. It has well-balanced acidity and alcohol, and is marked by the typical "Valpiedra" freshness. The finish is long, cool, and mineral, with a touch of fine woods. Only 24 bottles came to ALL of NY State and NYC. We just happened to get 3 bottles! We are kind of excited about that!
Tequila Siete Leguas Siete Décadas is made with criollo agaves, which are a type of blue agave variety called Tequilana Weber. These agaves grow wild on the slopes of hills in Jalisco, Mexico and take longer to mature, resulting in smaller pineapples with higher concentrations of sugars. To celebrate its 70th anniversary, Siete Leguas has released a limited edition white tequila made with these criollo agaves and produced using traditional methods, including slow cooking in stone ovens, grinding in a tahona, natural fermentation with wild yeasts, and double distillation in copper stills. The limited edition bottle, called Siete Leguas 70th Anniversary, contains 700 ml of 100% blue agave tequila and has an alcohol content of 42% by volume. It has a smooth, balanced flavor with citrus and cooked agave notes and can be enjoyed on its own or in cocktails. |
