Cheese and charcuterie boards have become a staple at parties and gatherings, but did you know that their history dates back centuries? Cheese has been enjoyed for thousands of years and is believed to have originated in the Middle East. From there, it spread to Europe and eventually made its way to the Americas.

Charcuterie, on the other hand, was invented in 15th century France as a way to preserve meats before refrigeration was available. The word "charcuterie" actually comes from the French words "chair" (meat) and "cuit" (cooked). Today, charcuterie boards feature a variety of cured meats, from prosciutto and salami to chorizo and pate.

At Aroma Thyme Bistro, we take pride in our cheese and charcuterie board, which features mostly locally sourced meats and cheeses. We love showcasing the delicious offerings of our community and supporting local farmers and artisans. In addition to meats and cheeses, we add Fig Port Jam, Olives, Taralli, and maple walnuts to complement the flavors of the board.
