Porterhouse and T-bone steaks are two very similar cuts of beef. Both steaks include a "T-shaped" bone with meat on each side. Porterhouse steaks are cut from the rear end of the short loin and thus include more tenderloin, making them a more tender and expensive cut of steak. T-bone steaks, on the other hand, come from a similar cut as Porterhouse steaks, but have a smaller tenderloin portion. The main difference between the two is the size of the tenderloin portion, which is significantly larger in a Porterhouse.
